A conference was held in Gospić from October 2 to 4, 2025. "Innovations and sustainability in the rural area", organized by the association GTF-Initiative for Sustainable Growth in partnership with LAG LIKA.The conference brought together numerous stakeholders from the fields of rural development, agriculture, innovation, and sustainability—representatives of institutions and organizations, entrepreneurs, farmers, and experts.
Over the course of the three-day program, panels, presentations, and field visits were held with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences, and good practices regarding the sustainable development of rural communities.
📅 Day One was dedicated to panels and lectures on innovation, digitization and the involvement of young people in agriculture, with an emphasis on the importance of adapting to climate and environmental challenges.
📅 On the second day Participants had the opportunity to learn about regenerative and sustainable approaches through presentations and a tour of the SUPER-LI permaculture estate, as well as examples of circular solutions in local communities.
📅 Day Three of the conference included a tour of the "Dr. Ante Starčević" Public Open University, the event Autumn in Lika, as well as visits to local producers and family farms.
The conference confirmed the importance of intersectoral cooperation, knowledge exchange and the application of innovative solutions to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of rural areas.
The organization of this event is co-financed as part of the activities of the CAP Network’s annual action plan using European Union funds—specifically the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development—through the Call for Proposals for CAP Network activities in 2025.
